The GFRP rebar is a composite material made from high strength glass fibers with an extremely durable vinyl ester resin. The glass fibers impart strength to the rod while the vinyl ester resin imparts excellent corrosion resistance properties in harsh chemical and alkaline environments. For improved stiffness and mechanical properties a carbon/vinyl ester product is available. Features of CFRP Tape & Rebar
CFRP tape is a 2mm. X 16mm. "tape", CFRP Rebar is 3/8inch rod in Dia, and they are designed specifically for NSM strengthening. The tape is made from carbon fiber, at least 60% by volume in a Bisphenol Epoxy Vinyl ester resin matrix, and the Rebar is made from Carbon fiber in Epoxy Resin with 68% by volume. A surface treatment is applied to the wide faces of the CFRP Tape and the CFRP Rebar is sand-coated to enhance the bond characteristics when used with structural epoxy adhesives such or cementitious latex modified grouts.
The nominal "diameter" or cross sectional area of CFRP tape is the same as a ?" diameter rod. It is furnished in continuous lengths in spools that are 250ft (76m) long.
